4月24日（日本時間25日）、NBAは181人の大学選手と55人の海外選手の合計236選手がNBAドラフト2018のアーリーエントリーリスト（早期志願名簿）に名を連ねたことを発表した（※アーリーエントリーとは、大学卒業前の選手及び22歳以下の選手がNBAドラフトの指名対象となることをリーグに届け出ること）。
NBAドラフト2018にエントリーするには、4月22日（同23日）までにNBAに知らせる必要があった。アーリーエントリーした選手は、6月11日午後5時（同6日午前6時）までエントリーを取り下げる権利がある。NCAAのルール上、3年生以下の選手が大学でプレイを続けるためには、5月30日（同31日）までにエントリーを取り下げる必要がある。
